Nuggets star has worrying comment about latest injury
Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray offered a concerning comment about a new injury he picked up in Thursday's Western Conference semifinals loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Murray admitted after the defeat that he hurt his right elbow early in Denver’s 115-70 Game 6 loss. The star guard hurt himself when he ran into a Rudy Gobert screen and suggested the injury was part of what led to a terrible 4-for-18 shooting night.

Perhaps of more concern, Murray admitted that he was not entirely sure how the elbow would respond ahead of Game 7.

“I hope, for our team’s sake I hope I can get it right,” Murray said, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “We got two days off. I just got to get ready and be able to be better for Sunday. Yeah, [it’s got] to be better for Sunday, man.”

Murray sounds more hopeful than optimistic, which might not be a good sign. The Nuggets have been at their best this postseason when Murray has played well, as he has averaged 19.7 points in the team’s three wins over Minnesota compared with 11.7 points in their three defeats. He also authored one of the more memorable moments of the entire series. If Murray is limited for Game 7, that could mean big trouble for Denver.
